Our world is getting smaller every day. Climate change, global economic collapse and the immediacy of internet communications mark the complex and accelerating interdependence of all countries. The days of the Iron Curtain, Berlin Wall and DMZ are long gone. Perhaps it’s time to rethink the notion of enemy.
And as the world gets smaller, our individual reach ripples farther. With so much in flux and at stake, this is the time for rogue diplomacy, for international relations scaled to meet each other face to face.
Peace may be the horizon we approach and never quite reach, but it’s the only viable direction we have left. So let’s begin, each in our own smallish way.
